Le Chai began at 209 Main street in the Visalia Downtown Mall sometime in 2004. Scott and Kimm Manley purchased the wine lounge, then known as the Wooden Crate, and renamed it Le Chai which in french means "The Cellar". They created hour'dourves and selected a variety of wines with an influence on Central Coast wines. In late 2005 they had the opportunity to move Le Chai Wine Lounge to 101 W Main after they heard Gumbo's had closed it's doors. It was a fantastic location and was 5 times the size of where they were currently located. After selling a rental property, they had the funds needed to completely renovate their new building and at least 80% of the work was done utilizing the help of their family. The renovation was completed near the end of 2005 and since the grand opening Le Chai has attracted people from Fresno to Bakersfield. |
